My name is Steve Hutchison, owner of photography by Steven A. Hutchison. I recently changed the business name from Contemporary Images. I have operated my business as Contemporary Images for quite a while. I felt that using my name in my company would better illustrate my commitment to the art and business of wedding photography.

Organized, creative, dedicated, loyal, passionate… any of these words could be used to describe me at any given time. All of this is part of what makes me care so much about my work and maintaining close interaction with my clients. I have put my heart and soul into photography for over 20 years. People are what drive my business and it is through close relationships with clients that I maintain a high level of interest in photography, especially weddings.

I became interested in photography while in high school, when I joined the yearbook staff and suddenly realized the effect a camera can have on people. I had always been the one to have a camera, next to my father, an avid ‘family’ photographer. Boy do we have a lot of slides! I have enjoyed many types of photography over the years, but none more than weddings.

I met with my first client in our apartment back in the early eighties. Since then our business has seen such venues as a 2nd floor office space, a shopping center storefront, and our home, where it is currently located. Having the business at home allows me time with my wife and children, which I value more than anything.

Weddings allow me to develop long-term relationships with clients from many cultures and different walks of life. It is through this personal association that I am able to record the events of the wedding day from such an intimate perspective. My photography style cannot be assigned to only one classification. I can be a photojournalist, unobtrusively capturing events and details. A number of of my images may illustrate your relationship with the camera, elegantly posed in various close-ups and environmental locations. Interaction with family and friends is important and will always be included!

I truly enjoy being part of such a momentous occasion. The images that I capture reflect the enthusiasm and dedication I apply to my photography. Nothing is more important than the relationship between two people in love. It may sound cliché, but as the saying goes, after all is said and done, you are left with your love for each other and wedding images that tell the story of your wedding day.
